First, I want to say that I fucking HATE that this is another ad from Dove! I feel extremely conflicted when I see a video from ‘Dove’ that sends a strong message about female empowerment and body image, because we all know that ‘Dove’ is owned by ‘Unilever’, who also own ‘Axe’, one of the most misogynist ad campaigns in recent memory. A company that exploits women’s AND men’s fears and vulnerabilities for profit.
That being said, I think this piece has a lot to say about the power of taking selfies, something that I have recently been feeling more and more strongly about.
